I Won! Woot!

I'm so excited! I have gone from winning nothing over the years to winning a box of Aurifil thread and now...a gorgeous bag kit from Kerry Stitch Designs! Look at this beauty!
Kerry has the BEST giveaways! She not only sent me the kit with butter-soft wool, she added the fusible batting, the thread, the ribbon and two brand new packages of needles. You know, I'm never sure what needle to use for hand work and I hadn't bought these needles because I just didn't know. I'm finishing up the doll quilt for little Dylan and am using one of Kerry's needles to stitch down the binding and it's wonderful. If you aren't familiar with Kerry's work, you should really visit her blog HERE. And you should follow her blog to get in on her amazing giveaways! She has a wonderful line of gorgeous patterns, many of which incorporate stitching and embellishment.
Many say her work resembles that of other, more well-known quilters but Kerry was doing this innovative style long before anyone else. I have some of Kerry's patterns in the shop that are on sale for 30% off right now (and yes, the fabric sale is still going-for details see my previous posts).

What I love about her patterns, in addition to the designs, are the beautifully illustrated directions for doing the fancy stitching and the use of embellishments. I love all the cute projects she offers too!
Kerry is a really nice person who is more than happy to help if you have questions about any of her patterns. She has published a definitive Embellishment Guide for stitches like those shown around the leaves above. She also does patterns for cotton quilts:
I've been so stressed that I can't tell you how wonderful it is to get a beautiful, bright package in the mail! I am so lucky! The doll quilt is turning out to be really cute. I'll try to get photos but it's going to be tough to get it done before Sunday so her Daddy can take it to her. She's all about the American Girl babies. I guess that's the "in" gift for the under 10 set this year. Well, I'm off to clean for company. Hope you have a wonderful weekend! XO and cheery wave from Bev

Congratulations on your Woolie win. I love stitching with wool and hope you have some fun with the project.

It is fun to look at traditional applique patterns and wonder how they wildly look in wool, but no turned edges!
