Amazing Tutorial for Seam Ripping and the Reason Why!

Good morning! Well, my plan for fast and easy stitching worked! I finished the blocks for this month's BOM from Minick and Simpson. This is the Austin Bluebird quilt that I'm making two of. One in the traditional colors that come with the BOM and one in my stash colors. So I stitched up all the blocks for the month:
This isn't even all of them. There were a ton. Then I sat down to sew them together. Well, they didn't fit! What the heck? So I emailed Minick and Simpson and yep, there were errors in the pattern. They emailed the corrections but that still left me with a bunch of blocks that didn't fit. SO... I found the PERFECT tutorial for easy seam ripping!
For those of you who already know this, okay. For those of you who don't (like me and I've sewn for years), you are welcome! Have a great day! XO and cheery wave from Bev

Thank you for the Seam Ripper Video. It seems a lot of my sewing time is 'eaten-up' by correcting mistakes :) - this will help!!
I always enjoy your blog!

wow thanks. I will give this method a try next time, and trust me there will be a next time I need to unstitch.

Must be something in the air, I too have had some intimate time with my dusty seam ripper this week. The only difference is the error was mine. Couldn't blame no one but myself. And that makes me mad because I'd rather blame others for my problems!

Wow...didn't know that. Thanks so much for sharing. As an "experienced beginner" :-) I have to do more ripping than I care to admit.

Did not know either. I didn't know what the ball was for.

Stupid question and I probably just missed it in the video, did she have the seam ripper between the two pieces of fabric? I'll have to try it. I think I would be a little bummed if I had made a ton of blocks only to find out I had to redo all of them!

how annoying to have errors in the pattern, i thought they had pattern testers to find them before released the pattern. Well i have a seam ripper but never seen it used like that before, not sure I would be so successful but I am going to try it out on some scrap fabric later today looks too good to be true

I've been sewing for over 40 years and have never used a seam ripper. I never got one because I didn't know how to use one. Now, I do! Thanks.
