My New Method Seems to be Working!

Hi all! Hope you had a great weekend! I tried my new method of cutting out a bunch of blocks and then sewing on them as I have time. I'm working on this month's Austin Bluebird quilt by Minick and Simpson. This is the quilt that I'm making in two colorways. One in the fabrics that they send with the BOM and one from fabrics in my stash.
It takes almost no more time to layer fabrics and cut two at one time. The applique blocks are another story though. But, there are a lot of pieced blocks in these quilts too. It will be interesting (I think) to see the two quilts side by side when they are finished. I also worked on my project with my daughter, Gina. It's so much fun! Can't wait to show you and see what you think. Well, hope you have a happy week! XO and cheery wave from Bev!

Glad your new method is working. I am looking forward to seeing the two different color combinations. You and your daughter must be having fun! Maybe a sneak peek?

am wondering how many projects you have on the go Bev, I get so confused with mine so not starting any new ones for now just collecting the blocks and saving them. The latest pile of cut fabrics will soon make up into blocks, it is the cutting I hate but rarely cut more than one at a time as I an be a bit careless if I do not concentrate properly

I wish I could be as quick as that and use the sewing machine too! your pile of cut fabrics looks very impressive!

I would get so mixed up. I still make one block at a time. Maybe that's why each block takes a week....grin.
