No Coffee for Me!

Good Morning! It's Monday, December 3rd and the temp here is going to be 75 degrees today. We are setting all kinds of weather records for unusual warmth and no rain. We are actually in a drouth that is worse than the dust bowl!

Yesterday I worked but wanted to stick to my goal of a quilt block (or some sewing) every day so I made a Farmer's Wife block at 11:30 last night.
This is Block No 24, Country Path. You can tell I made it late at night-heh heh. It was a hard one and I'm out of spray starch. Oh well, it's going in the quilt.

I was feeling sorry for myself this morning because my coffee maker has quit working. No coffee for me. Then I saw this on Pinterest:
Pioneer women had to collect "cow patties" for fuel so they could stoke the fire for cooking and staying warm. AND they had to wear those long skirts, regardless of the weather. No microwave, no sweeper, no washing machine. In all probability this lady lived in a sod house. So okay, I'll survive until I can drive to Walmart or get online and buy a new coffee maker.
I finished putting the binding on the star tree skirt last week but didn't get a photo before Gina took it home to put it under her tree. I wish you could see the quilting better. I made this last year.  Pretty fun to make!

Have a great Monday! Don't forget to enter our giveaway for free flannel fabric! It ends this weekend. If you haven't entered already, you can do so HERE. Hope you get to sew today! Cheery wave from Bev

I feel your pain! My coffee machine croaked on me too a while back. Advice: ALWAYS have some instant/soluble coffee in the house. Believe me, you'll be glad you had that powdery stuff tucked away in the cupboard! ANY coffee is better than none... lol

Love your tree skirt! If you still own a saucepan, you can boil water and coffee together on the good old stove. :-)
