I Have Coffee LA LA LA (and fun tutorials)!

Good Morning! It's Friday (woot!) and I have COFFEE! My caffeine addiction is being fed! I don't smoke, drink alcohol, do drugs or run around with fast boys so I'm not giving up my coffee!

First, I sewed some last night. I did Block No. 25 for the Farmer's Wife quilt that is called Cups & Saucers:

AND I finished Summer Celebration quilt's Applique Block No 4:

Hopefully, I'll have this quilt finished and quilted before next summer!

Now for fun tutorials! First, If you haven't heard of Rose Smith, I think you will like her! She does great tutorials on YouTube and I love her accent. This tutorial is for the Atlanta quilt block.

You can find the written instructions and the video HERE. You could use any colors but with red and green it looks like a festive Christmas quilt.

Next is my friend, Kaaren's, beautiful Christmas quilt. If you like embroidery, you will LOVE all her patterns! I really like the Santa...he looks nice. I have to confess...some Santas scare me...like clowns. They aren't all jolly old guys.

A Cute Zippered Stocking Tutorial!

Hello on Wednesday! I've been working like a crazy woman on my "real job" and on packing fabrics that people are buying to make beautiful things. I did sew together two blocks last night. The Diamond Star block for the Summer Celebration quilt:

and, also for the Summer Celebration quilt, the Water Wheel block:

As long as I'm doing some blocks, I feel productive. I will say though that the Summer Celebration quilt seems to have a TON of blocks.

An Awesome Bedskirt Tutorial!

Good Morning! I work today but wanted to share a wonderful bedskirt tutorial I found on Pinterest before I start working. But first, I did sew a block together yesterday - between naps.

It's the Devil's Claws block for the Summer Celebration quilt. I used some of Lori Holt's newsprint fabric from her Polka Dot Stitches line for the background.

Now, here's the bedskirt tutorial that is from House on Hill Road blog. You can find it HERE. I really want a bedskirt because I just love them but unfortunately, so does Mr. Charlie Dog. I might try one of these though. I love the way it hangs and that it's so full.

Cute FREE Tutorial!

Good morning! It's Saturday and I get to do some sewing today! Woot! Last night I did another Farmer's Wife block...I know, I know, you're sick of Farmer's Wife blocks on the blog. Can't be helped buddies--I love them! They are fast and easy. Gina said that this one should have been fussy cut and she is right. But--too bad! It's done and I'm leaving it that way!

It's Block 23, Country Farm. We had chickens when I was a girl and they are always going in every direction (especially if you are trying to catch them) so I'm leaving the birds like they are.

I dropped my rotary cutter on my toe last night and cut a nice slice. I thought it would never stop bleeding. I realized that I've gotten into the habit of not closing my cutter until I'm through. So If I have to reposition the fabric and cut more than one cut, it stays open. Not a good idea. I thought I was going to have to call my son to come stitch it up but it finally quit. Did you know that on the top of the Bandaid box it says, "You're going to be just fine"? When did they start doing that? I think it's awesome!
