The 36th block is done....and 3 more earthquakes!

Finally! The 36th block is finished for my Oklahoma Beauty quilt! Remember how I was worried that the red block was too dark? Well, this one might be too light. I've had the background fabric in the Etsy shop so I didn't use it but I cut myself a fat quarter and made that final block (maybe).
I also did a chart for placement last night but haven't laid the blocks out yet. I'm so tired. This morning for the second time this week, I was awakened by Lola barking (which doesn't happen very often) at 5:10 AM because we were having another earthquake. Then we had two more! Lola is convinced that her barking makes them go away. When it stops shaking, she sort of snorts and prances over for a congratulatory petting and praise. On the weather channel today they did a segment about the Oklahoma earthquakes because there are so many and they are becoming more frequent and stronger. They said that this usually happens before a very large quake that causes a lot of damage and loss of life. What? My blog friends in California email me and say, "now you know how we feel--we have these all the time". So it's a scary situation. I really don't want to have to deal with tornadoes and earthquakes!

Yesterday I had to get Charlie's meds refilled (thank you God that I had the money) and so thought I would run by Walmart and pick up a few things. While I was there, a lady came up to me who obviously didn't speak English and tried to tell me that my pants were ripped out in the seat. It took a while but I finally figured it out. She kept pointing to her rear and acting like she was crying. It was so funny once I figured it out...I can't even tell you. Thank goodness I had a long top on and just pulled it down (and kept pulling it down). I tell ya, I don't want to go to the People of Walmart website....I might just be the newest addition. I have a customer in my Etsy shop who bought fabric and she emailed me yesterday and said that she just couldn't tell me how much she loved the fabric she just received and was going to make a dress out of it. She said that she had a dress from the same type of fabric that that, over the winter, the dress had somehow become two sizes too small while hanging in her closet. I can so relate....Well, guess I'll go work. I'm writing copy about women's clothes for a Canadian website today. Much more fun to write about than rental property. I just have to remember to spell everything correctly - like colour, favourite, etc. Love you guys! Have a great day! XO and cheery wave from Bev

Pretty block in spite of barking dog and earthquakes. Glad you got the message about the ripped Pants. I NEVER shop in that store so I won't be caught in the "people of Walmart".

Love your blocks.
Scary about the earthquakes. I live in Texas and earthquakes just north of us scares me.
The good thing about Wal-Mart is that you always see people that look worse than you - even if you have ripped pants.

Can't wait to see that quilt put together. Those earthquakes are getting closer and closer together, aren't they? We don't feel them here.

I agree with you, each state should have their own set of natural disasters and not share! LOL
