Good morning! Today is the Farm Girl Friday Sew Along from Lori Holt's book Farm Girl Vintage. I sewed this morning at 2 AM because I could not sleep. I just can't lay in bed and start thinking about things because I always go to the worst case scenario. I'd love to be all positive and sunny but I don't think it's going to happen soon. Do you ever have trouble sleeping? What do you do for that? Anyway, I got up and made the Baking Day blocks. Not the best idea to cut and sew in the middle of the night! Here's the 12" block:
and here's the 6" Baking Day block:
I added the rick rack because by 3 AM I thought it was a brilliant idea-hahahaha. So today I have errands to run which means I have to take a shower and all that good stuff because I will be around people. I'm also going to try to get that yellow quilt finished. I'm going to try doing that two-color binding that makes it look like there's piping. I just don't want put any more time in this than I have to. I never intended to spend this much time on it and I'm not going to make any money on it even if I sell it. So that's my Friday. What are you going to do? Hope you have a great day! XO from Bev

I've sleep issues also, sometimes a big ole glass of milk works and sometimes it don't. Because I'm hypoglycemic, this works by leveling out my sugar. Low sugar wakes me. They say you should stay away from your cell phone and computer for at least two hours before trying to go to bed, something to do with the "blue" light. What do they know! Love love love your blocks! You're a trend setter with that ricrac you wait and see if "they" don't start copying it.
I was up late also. For different reasons. I was Blogging! I need to take the time off my wee hours posting now that it is a decent time. Love your blocks. I know that i will get mine stiched , but another deadline is looming.
i have trouble sleeping to! have for 40 years . Maybe it's something that comes when you hit middle age
Yep.....I fell asleep a little after 4 last night. I read, but should have gotten up and made a block....:) My sewing has fallen by the wayside.
I sometimes have a problem falling asleep. My mind starts churning and I find myself fretting. Sometimes a change of location helps, moving from bed to recliner.
Most often tho, I will start a movie on my iPad, a quiet one I know by heart, You've Got Mail or The Lake House or Under a The Tuscan Sun. I close the cover, so the light doesn't disturb. I find that concentrating on envisioning the movie, I know it by heart, it keeps my mind quiet and I soon fall asleep.
dear Bev you do sound down in the dumps, how I wish I could pop in and see you. I too have sleep problems but mine are waking regularly during the night, go back to sleep okay but can wake up to 10 times, they say we do not need much sleep as we get older but I am not so sure about that. I like the ric rac and the blocks look good take care. Reading the previous comments maybe all quilters have the same problem, maybe that is why we are quilters!
I love your blocks, they are so cute! I love the ric rac too!
