Austin Bluebird BOM Month Three - Sister Quilts

Well, the third month Austin Bluebird showed up and it's very interesting. Looking a the photo of the entire sampler quilt, it was hard to figure out how the blocks would go together (see at the bottom of this post). So for this month, the oak leaf block stays separated...ahhh...I see. These are also my sister quilts. I'm doing the blocks in the fabrics that Minick and Simpson send and I'm doing the blocks in fabric from my stash. I just layer them and cut once--sew twice and I'll (in theory) have 2 finished quilts. Here are the blocks from the Minick and Simpson fabrics (not sewn together yet):
and here are the blocks from my stash:
Pretty rough but you get the idea. Here's what the finished sampler is supposed to look like:
So you can see how it's hard to figure out how the blocks will be put together. I like both of them. Well, hope you have a great Wednesday! I'm writing about hoop earrings and baby's socks among other things today. I love writing about baby clothes...they are SO adorable! Have a wonderful day! XO and cheery wave from Bev

Ah-ha! Now I can see how the entire quilt goes together. You would think after nearly 20 years of making quilts I could have done it on my own. Old dogs can learn!

I just love the idea of twin quilts. It looks like you are putting together a jigsaw puzzle. Love your stash colors!
