More Oklahoma Beauty blocks with a BIG mistake!

Good Monday morning! I know I told you that I was finished with my Oklahoma Beauty blocks BUT (there I go--sticking my big BUT in the air) I haven't been able to figure out how to set the blocks. I decided to go to my favorite local quilt shop, Savage Quilter, and use their big tables to lay them out and look at them. Believe me, I got lots of advice! I finally decided on a setting and now I have to make 6 more blocks! Oh well, I love making these blocks but you will have another round of blocks that I show you. You just thought you were through looking at these blocks! Here's the first of the six I made last night while watching a disappointing episode of King of Thrones:

Yes, that's a permanent pen mark you see. I always cut out the big arc bigger than it should be by about 2 inches so that I can use it to make the block square. With all the paper piecing, there is often a lot  distortion in the blocks (well at least in my blocks). I use a Frixon pen to mark it because it will disappear when ironed. Well, apparently, in my watching tv while quilting mode, I used a fine point permanent Sharpie. Why I didn't notice I was doing that makes me worry about my mental capacities. I've figured out a fix that doesn't involve taking that piece off and replacing it but if it doesn't work, it's not the end of the world. I'll just have a little extra work. So that's probably a lot more than you wanted to know about my cutting while watching tv skills. What's on your schedule today? I'm going to get to work and I've sworn off Pinterest as a "break" between writing assignments. No Pinterest for me today until I am finished working! Well, hope you have a great day! XO and cheery wave from Bev

Such sweet fabrics! Didn't even notice the mark until you mentioned it. Would rubbing alcohol take it out?

so this quilt is going to be bgger, good to ahve a shop where you can lay it all out and get advice too. Mine go down on the floor after a bit of pushing and shoving furniture out of the way. Re frixon pens, I bought one but have since been warned that the lines come back if the temperature is cold, it happened to a friend who had one in the hold of a plane which is cold and she was shocked to see the lines has reappeared. See you have been very active on pinterest, I look but that is about all as do not really understand it!
