Still Gossiping in the Garden

Well, it's warm again! The snow is gone and it's supposed to be 70 degrees today! We had a record low of 27 degrees at night! Crazy! Here's Block B of Gossip:
It's a big puppy! I had to take the photo outside and had to hurry because it's so windy today. I'll put buttons in the middle of the round flowers and do lots of embellishment but not until after it's quilted. It says:

"their friendship revolved around cups of tea and gossip in the garden..."

I use tons of spray starch (always) and to get the embroidery to lay flat, I iron it over a rolled up wash rag. Well, there was a starch build-up on the iron:
Doesn't look like enough to leave a mark on the embroidery, does it? Well, it did! I hope it washes out! I cleaned the iron with the magical Mr. Clean white scrubber magic eraser pad. I LOVE those things!

Just a few rubs with the white eraser thingie and just like new. You can see the line caused by the starch on the iron right in the middle of the embroidery. It's so frustrating to do all that work.... At any rate, I love this quirky, very British quilt! Well, I'm off to work. I'm writing about gift cards again today. Hope your Wednesday is a happy one! XO and cheery wave from Bev

Love my Mr Clean! Saved my iron from iron on interfacing facing the wrong way more than once!

I've been using Mary Ellen's Best Press Spray for a couple of years and never been troubled by a dirty iron! It's kinda pricey, tho' but I figure best tool, best outcome!

And it's a darling block! I enjoy seeing your work! Thanks for sharing!

Cute little quilt!!!! Good idea on cleaning the iron with the magic eraser. The company I work for developed the magic eraser (originally as sound proofing for automobiles). You'd think I could get them for free! LOL.

This is an adorable applique piece! Is this your own pattern and will you be offering it to sell? I'm visiting from Freemotion by the River.

I'm going to have to try that trick with the iron, mine is yucky.

Put a little lemon juice on the stain and lay outside in the sunshine. It should take that spot away. Spots from the iron are never my favorite thing, if all else fails try retro clean. I am enjoying seeing your quilt in progress this one is on my list to make someday.
