A Winner and some Scrap Buster Quilts!

Good morning! Congratulations to Tanya of Tanya Quilts in CO blog. She won our giveaway for Kathy Schmitz's new book, Simply Red! I've sent you an email Tanya! Thanks to everyone who entered and be sure and check tomorrow! We have 2 more giveaways ending today and tomorrow and will be announcing the winners!

Here's a great scrap buster quilt that I did in the Maltese Circle design. From a distance, it looks like circles but there are only straight lines in this quilt. I was in a charm square swap and I sent new charm squares however what I got back was disappointing to say the least. I did get most of them back but they were not fabrics I would normally use. This is the perfect quilt pattern to use those scraps. No more swaps for me unless I know the people in the swap!

The quilting is just outline around the shapes. I also did a top from the 3-Dimensional Bow Tie block that I did a tutorial about on this blog a while back.
It looks a little rough and unpressed but you get the idea. Great for using scraps with infinite layouts. And you only use squares to make it.

Have a happy Saturday! Stop by tomorrow to see who wins our June Giveaway and who wins the original art piece by Gina! Cheery wave from Bev

Love the quilt made from the charm pieces, I was sure there were curves in it, will have to try and find a tutorial on it later today.

I'm not sure I've seen Maltese Circle before, but let me tell you, I love it! I am drawn to quilts that have movement created in this way. Not the first quilt I've loved then scrutinized individual prints with a raised eyebrow! You're not alone...I'm struggling to do something with some leftover challenge blocks with a deadline looming!

I love that Maltese Circle quilt and I'm trying to track down the pattern. Can you verify it's by Judy Martin and in her Scrap Quilts book published in 85/86?
