Today is the Oklahoma Memorial Marathon. It is a gorgeous day! There is no wind, it is sunny and it will be 80 degrees. Heaven for runners...I am not a runner but will be joining the runners in my mind...lol.
I've done another Oklahoma Beauty block. They are just so much fun to stitch together.
I've also been preparing block 2 of the Civil War Bride quilt. It takes for. ev. er. to get prepped. This block has 65 pieces to applique in just one block. First I make templates out of plastic, then I trace onto applique paper, then iron them on the pieces (after taking the time to select the fabric) and then cut them out and with a glue stick, turn under the edges. Then I have to cut bias for stems and secure all to the background fabric. Then and only then can I sew it down. As someone who likes instant gratification, it is hard to wait for the fun part for me which is the applique stitching. So I stopped and made a quick Oklahoma Beauty block.

I can not imagine 65 pieces to applique for one block!
Sounds like you need to try the back basting method of needle turn applique. So relaxing, the hand sewing, with just a couple simple steps.
Love your colorful blocks!
I can't wait to see what your blocks look like all together.
Another gorgeous block - I just can't wait to see all these Oklahoma beauties pieced together :-)
