It's a Boy!!!

Here's some happy news on Monday! I have a new grand-dog!

My daughter, Gina, recently lost her dog, Daisy. Gina, like her mom, is a dog person and this weekend she adopted a darling dog that they named Wilson. He got his name because Gina and the kids were watching him run around the yard and they yelled various names at him. He only reacted to the name Wilson so I guess he chose his own name.

He's a very pretty boy who is obviously a mix of who knows what that equals a perfect package of love. He is sweet and friendly and very grateful to be out of the kill shelter. Gina has another little dog, Cleo, who is about 14 now and Cleo is not thrilled to say the least but he's respectful of her and she is tolerating him.

Wilson is about 7 months old and he's just a love bug. I know that some people like to buy dogs from breeders because they want a "quality" dog but the only quality I'm interested in is the love they can give. There is such a huge need to save dogs from the horrible fate that awaits them at the shelter. I think shelter dogs know they have been rescued and they are grateful and loyal. Hope you have a happy week. I just wanted to share some happy news about the newest member of the family with you! XO from Bev

He looks like a whole bunch of wiggly fun! We once had a little Bichon Frise dog that we got free because she had a heart murmur. We had her for 8 years and she was the BEST watch dog ever - who would have thought.

Congratulations Bev on your new granddog, he looks wonderful. Rescue from a kill shelter is the best kind of rescue.

Rescue dogs are the best friends. Wilson looks very similar to 2 of my rescue dogs. Your daughter has a big heart.

It always warms my heart when someone adopts a dog from a shelter. Bella was a rescue dog also. They are so grateful and loving to have a home. Good for Gina.

Rainy today but at least the temps are good.

How cute he is!! And such unusual coloring. He is lucky to have a new forever home. I, too, adopt rescued dogs and have found them to be the most devoted, loving pals EVER. I wish her luck and lots of wet kisses with Wilson!!

I agree that rescue dogs are best. It seems that they remember where they came from and are soooo grateful. We have 2 rescue dogs - Mickey who just happens to be a pure bred English Springer Spaniel, now 10 years old, and Juno a "mostly" Border Collie who is 4, and on Wednesdays, Abby our grand-dog who is a mixture of about 57 breeds, also a rescue. Can't imagine not having these 2 in our home.

Wilson is a cutie. His face shape reminds me of the RCA dog of old. Our dog is a rescue mutt also.
