I don't get it!

Well, I'm at a loss. I just don't understand how anyone can clean up their ufo boxes and not want to just do a couple of blocks for every project in the box! Here's one I found:

And I found 4 of these...don't ask me what I was thinking and what I was going to do with them! I think these are from a Jan Patek pattern and, instead of her dark, country colors, I wanted to do it in my bright palette.

I immediately wanted to find the pattern and see what it looks like finished. I think it was four of these blocks connected with half square triangles. And I found this top that needs to be quilted:

What's a girl to do? I guess, bite the bullet and start doing some machine quilting. How do you resist your UFO's? Please let me know! XO and cheery wave from Bev

I have to keep a notebook of what projects I have going and what stage each project is in. It helps me make sure I'm not stagnant in a project or keep forgetting that I need to get some more fabric to finish it.

I keep mine hidden in a cabinet. They're stored in boxes and bags along with patterns, notes to self, fabrics, and templates. Usually my rolling fabric cart (that is stacked so high it's leaning on the cabinet door) is parked in front of the UFO door. I think this might fall in the category of self sabotaging.

I have recently gotten back into quilting and have begun working on UFOs. I choose one and get working on it till it is a finished top waiting for quilting. I line them up in order that I want them done. I have a longarm and then work on the quilting in the same way, line them up in the order to get them done. The problem with me is that I started lots of thing and then went on to something else now I am working on just finishing. New quilts I am working on have to be finished now before I move on to something else. I am making progress.

Your UFOs are truly beautiful and I hope you come up with a good system to get them finished.

some of my ufos are out in the open haunting me, others are tucked away to be found later. :)

Ohhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh - what a treasure trove of UFO's - just looking at those cheerful colors makes my heart sing. I am usually a finisher, once I start. Just a thing with me, I guess. But, as I am saying that, I just glanced to a box sitting here from shuffling around today, and noticed that there is a quilt top atop it. Guess I need to get busy - it's actually Karen Walker's Poppa's Tree Farm. Happy Wednesday, Bev - XOXO

good to see you giving life to some of the UFOs, I have a hat box of blocks, I tend to make one of whatever I am doing to save for reference, the early ones were made in poly cotton, soon learnt that was not a good idea!

The only way I can resist them is to keep them firmly shut up in their boxes and drawers, but that won't work forever...;o))
Your bright colours make a misty autumn day seem more cheerful!

I would quilt the finished top first, that way you will have a finished quilt!
