Hi all! This morning I was looking for my container of embroidery thread and I found this half finished applique block:
What make this weird and kind of frightening is that I don't remember doing it. I have that blue fabric and I have tons of that cheddar background fabric but I don't remember cutting it, stitching it (and it's by hand) or what it was for. So is that an indicator that my age is frying my brain? Honestly, I'll bet I did it during the year that I had diabetes but didn't know it. Lots of crazy stuff happened to my body that year but I never associated it with being diabetic. That's cause I told my doctor at my yearly exam that I thought I was diabetic and she tested me and said I wasn't. So when I had symptoms, I thought..well, my doctor said it wasn't so this must be something else. A word to the wise...call your doctor back if you keep having symptoms of something--they could be wrong. And get this...when I was back a year later and she tested me she almost put me in the hospital because it was so bad and she said, "I wish you had come in sooner".
So whoa....I got a Tuesday surprise! Hope you're having a great day and not losing your mind....hahahahahaha XO and cheery wave from Bev

I know the feeling about finding things you do not remember. I find jewelry in my jewelry box or even our safe that I have no recollection of purchasing or receiving. My husband is not the type to add to the collection, so we can rule him out. ;) Maybe the hot weather has fried my memory. Linda@Wetcreek Blog
I lose thing all the time, me and hubby both can't remember where we put stuff, maybe when you are sick you forget things like that. Don't know don't have it unless they find it next month when we go for blood work. it's beautiful any way
Blood sugar can do funny things, it's better to know than not. I had no idea I was hypoglycemic until I passed out. Your block is cute, looks like a Piece o cake design.
I love that block! So cute and who doesn't like flowers and hand embroidery. Great job!
Well I guess you better finish it! If your sugar was way out of wack ten you could have done it. Don't worry about it if it is now fine. Cheery wave back Lisa
What a pleasant suprise! 😃
What you said about your doctor really upsets me. I have too many medical people in my family to hold the name dr on an equal with god. They are simply hired help. Expert help, yes, and certainly not infallible!
I recently had to shop for a new doctor. I told him, I've lived in theis body for 52 years, so when I tell you something isn't right, I expect you to believe me and to help me figure out the cause. He agreed so he became my new primary care physician.
As far as memory goes...what were we talking about? Hahaha
I've found that when I've needed to take prescription pain relief, narcotics really impede my memory!
So has menopause and my Fibro-fog!
a very pretty piece you have made here. Sorry to read about the diabetes, trust you have it all under control now, it seems to be an illness that is effecting lots of grown ups these days, something to do with our eating habits they say. I have the forgetfulness but not sugar related as was recently tested just old age with me!
Oh my! I didn't realize blood sugar could do that! I really love your block - at least you know you were still being creative and doing a wonderful job of it!!!
What a great surprise to find a finished block. Love the colors.
