A Dresden question....

I hung my Dresden Plate wallhanging today. It was stored rolled up but I thought that it needed a time to flatten out. But...

I have a question for experienced quilters. See how the Dresden pieces are wrinkly?
I outline quilted them but they are not smooth in the middle. What am I doing wrong? Is it the batting?
It just doesn't look right.

Or do you think it looks okay? I'm trimming and starting to assemble the Oklahoma Beauty blocks and I don't want to have the same thing happen to those. So what are you going this Sunday? It got chilly again here (in the 30's) so I'm doing laundry and cleaning today...and trimming blocks and auditioning borders. At any rate, hope your Sunday is a happy one! XO and cheery wave from Bev

I think it looks beautiful! I don't even see any wrinkles. It is cool here also - maybe later in the week we'll have some warm weather.

Have a good Sunday.

I don't have any answer to your wrinkle questions but am eager to hear some suggestions.

I really like the blooms in the Dresden centers! Very spring like and cheerful!

I think it looks LOVELY...but then I kind of embrace MY wrinkles too (G)!!! You could press the quilt IF IF IF you have cotton batting. Poly would MELT, so beware.
Lovely quilt...enjoy.

hmm I think they look fine. I wonder if its the underlaying tension on the background piece? I know so many factors influence the way fabric lays. maybe the quilting pulls it? poofs it? did you cut away the background behind the block? i guess i have more questions than answers.

sorry Bev can`t help but it looks good to me,from what I gather it depends on what batting is used as to how near the quilting should be. good to hear your are working on the Oklahoma quilt

Isn't it just wrinkled due to storage? When that happens to a quilt of mine, I just iron it provided it has a cotton or 80/20 batting....
But I agree with previous comments: looks fine to me!
