Plodding Along on my UFO's...

Yesterday I put the border on my Great Granny Along aqua and red top. Finally. I just have to find a place to prepare quilts for quilting. I'm going to work on that this week. I can't just use the floor because of my knees. I don't think I'd get back up if I got down on the floor. Too old and fat. So here's the border I picked:
Lori Holt, who started the Great Granny Quilt Along is writing a book using this pattern and projects made with it. This is such an easy quilt to make. You can find all the instructions and the Flickr group HERE. The block is big and easy:
And it's a great use of stash fabrics and it's a fast quilt to make unless you procrastinate like I do. I guess a better way to say it is that actual sewing time is pretty short. So what did everyone else do this weekend? I'm working today at my "real job" so I'm up at 4:30 to get an early start.
Hope you have a wonderful Sunday. It's Downton Abby day! I'm thinking that tomorrow we should talk about Downton. There are so many things going on right now! XO and cheery wave from Bev

The floor is a killer.
I have been known to put very large cardboard boxes (like refrigerator box)on the guest bed and work from that.

Hi, Bev. I'd like to start quilting (maybe after chemo) and I really like your quilt. Can you tell me how big your little squares are? If it's any consolation, I'm older and fatter than you!

I love this quilt and want to make it sometime too. I know Lori had all the instructions on the blog and I had them pinned but when she wrote the book she went back on her blog posts and took most of the instructions away. When I found out she did it with her first row along quilt I was very upset. I know she has that right but taught me not to trust when I see something for free. We had just moved into our new home at that time so couldn't do the row along as she went along but thought I would someday. I dont or hardly ever buy patterns. We'll see maybe someday I'll buy the book but there are way too many quilts I want to finish and still make or that I already have patterns for that I might just leave that one alone. This one is easy to figure out and if I have it correct the blocks are 2.5 inch squares.

Gorgeous quilt! I did these blocks too and now can't find them to put the quilt top together.
