WAH WAH WAH.....

I am steeped in self-pity today because last week, as I'm recovering from my spider bite, I got an infected tooth again. Taking antibiotics for that, it's now getting better but it really hurt! I know I should just get all of my teeth yanked out but I'm putting it off cause of the money. Then, I ripped the medial meniscus in my knee! That is like 9.5 out of 10 for pain...just murder! I've been nursing it with ice packs and rest (all you can do short of surgery) and walking with a cane. It's my quilting knee! On my right side where I operate the foot pedal on the sewing machine! Also where I operate the gas pedal and brake pedal on my car! Today I thought I would try to drive to the post office  drop box a couple of blocks away and my car wouldn't start! UGGGG! What have I done Universe? Have I insulted you? Did my devil-may-care attitude just make you mad? Yes, I know you are all better people than I am and that you bear life's burdens with grace. I'm just not like that. I'm a BIG, GIANT BABY!

So I've been longingly looking at the Virtual Quilting Bee new block. I'm way behind. But here's what I've done so far:

I'm now behind about 4 blocks. I used Lori Holt's Daisy Cottage fabric from the shop for this. It's my only fussy cut quilt blocks I've done (for a long time). I miss sewing! I miss working (well, really, the money I make working). Okay, now I've vented to people who have probably already logged off before reading all this...hahahaha. I feel better. Thank you very much. XO

I know the feeling. Don't let it get you down too long. Know that you aren't alone. Some days and weeks are just like that. Mary- Who is trying to make lemonade this week-end.

surely nothing else but good can happen from now on. The tooth hopefully will have now stopped hurting but I expect the knee will take longer. Interested that you have a petrol pedal on the car, not sure what that is as have never had one on my cars.

Love the fabrics you have used in these blocks, bright and cheerful

Your blocks are beautiful. I love the fussy cut flowers. Bad karma is all over the place. Best wishes on your recovery.

Oh dear, sounds like my last few years. I recently had surgery for a meniscus tear in my knee. It was the second time that it went out that made me finally go through with it. And I go to a surgeon on Monday to consult for possible back surgery for my sciatica. This getting older is no good! Hope things improve for you soon!

OMgosh when it rains it really does pour for you. Most people have to deal with one thing at a time, not you my friend.. you truly do multi task when it comes to issues.

I hope things get better soon for you.

Venting's always good so vent away, you have really good reasons. I hope the black cloud passes soon and you have blue skies ahead :)
I've never thought of it as my "quilting knee".

So sorry about all of your woes! I had the knee thing and finally had to have surgery, but the good news is that I actually walked out of the hospital.

Sounds like you need to just sit and quilt and read blogs! Praying for your tooth and your knee!!

Love,
Judy

Praying it gets better. The universe seems to gang up on my family all at once as well but then it gets better!

I taught myself to push the pedal with my left foot so I could use my right knee to work the presser foot lifter. Maybe you could try using your left, too.

So, so sorry for all the troubles!

Some days are like a long skid on a grease spot! Sorry you are miserable and hope it's short lived. Fall's coming soon and that will wake all of us out of the l-o-n-g summer funk of sun and heat. Sorry for the pain but ice and rest, pain pills will help you move on, HONEST. Maybe more rest than we're usually willing to devote but the knee tweak has to come first just now. Stephani in N.
