A Mish Mash of Stuff on Mayan Apocalypse Eve

Wow! It's Thursday! We had a huge cold front come through last night and the wind was so strong it took out my cable! I found out that I'm not going to be very good during the Apocalypse! My television, phone and internet didn't work. I did get to sew but felt some withdrawal from being on line! Yikes! I didn't even realize I was so addicted!

I did finish the last applique block for the Summer Celebration quilt and I only have one more pieced block to do and I'm finished (well, except for the border that is just half-square triangles.
Those squares, by the way, are fillers for other places in the quilt...I just put them there for color. It looks like I might actually get this finished before 4th of July! It's a Lori Smith pattern so it's been fun to do.

Here's some funnies for you that I found on Pinterest:
After all, this might be our last day...it's December 20th. Then I had to share this one:

heh heh Of course, none of you, my blogger buddies, can relate, right? And for those of you who asked me (from my blog entry of yesterday) what I want to work on in 2013, I am going to try to keep doing at least one block a day on something or quilting one section of a quilt a day and posting it to the blog. That is whether I like it or not, whether I make a mistake on it or not and whether I worry about what other people will say about it, it's going on the blog.

I'm doing this one block a day project for myself. I don't claim to be an expert quilter but I LOVE doing every step of it. I look at the absolutely amazing and gorgeous quilts on Pinterest and I know that I will never live long enough to do that kind of work. That's just a fact. My hat is off to all those amazing people! I love looking at their work and think it's wonderful. I'm just doing what I'm doing for fun. My ex-husband used to call it "my little hobby". In the divorce, he wanted all that quilt fabric listed in the settlement agreement and he valued it at $75. hahahahahahahaha

So with all that information about me that you probably didn't want to know, I'll get to work. Thanks to you all for your wonderful comments and emails.I just love you guys! Hope you get to sew today! Cheery wave! Bev

You've inspired me! I too am going to work everyday on some part of a quilt. I have a beautiful BOM for Christmas that I'd like to get done for next Christmas......and a beautiful cat quilt that needs quilted. Thanks for the motivation!

I'm not a believer in the Mayans so I'm planning to sew a lot tomorrow. Easy Street won't finish itself! My fav it the one that says to drop off all your fabric at my house if you think tomorrow is the end of the world, not that I NEED any more.
