Busy

I've been very busy lately with my "real" job, the fabric shop and life in general. I did manage to finish the first applique block on the Summer Celebrations quilt that I'm doing with some Australian blog friends. I can't wait to see their blocks. That might be a little while because they are still waiting for their fabric to come from the USA. Anyone is welcome to join us.

So I have the first pieced block (shown in my previous blog post) and this first applique block done that makes Section One of about 30 sections. Woot! (I still don't know why my pics look yellow).
The next section is in the upper left corner and is two pieced stars and a pieced house block. I chose this quilt so I would have some applique blocks to do hand work on. There are even some paper pieced blocks in this quilt. The other reason I chose it is I couldn't figure out how all the blocks went together. I studied it and studied it and gave up and ordered it. Lori Smith is one talented lady!

Other bloggers entertain you by chatting about their trips to Europe or their drive through the countryside with their endlessly patient and loving husbands to shop for antiques, look at the autumn landscape and stop at quaint fruit stands for organic food. I will be going to Walmart later today and taking the dogs to the groomer....try not to envy me.

Whatever your plans are today, have a good one! Cheery wave from Bev

LOL! And here I thought my husband was the only one out there that did not go for drives, would not stop at quilt shops, etc, etc! Thanks for letting me know that my hubby isn't the only one!
P.S. Love your block - cant wait to see them all put together.

Your post made me smile from ear to ear!! Some people have such 'perfect' lives, it makes one want to scream. Console yourself that there are no 'perfect' lives. There is someone out there envying the hell out of you for having a dog to take to the groomer... - that would be me! :) Chin up and soldier on!

I love the quilt it looks very complicated and you did a terrific job on your first block. I just want you to know hubby & I went to Joann's (guettermanns thread 50% off), and Walmart. Nope I can't spell either. The scenery was alive with color from the changing of the leaves. No perfect life here either. WV lettuce is iceburg too!
