A Beautiful Antique Quilt for your Enjoyment

Just thought you would enjoy this beautiful antique quilt. I'm sorry to say that I don't know the name of the maker or the date of the quilt but it is a gorgeous American folk art beauty. The pattern is Princess Feathers with an original spin on the center block. The colors are amazing with very little fading. I love it!

GORGEOUS ANTIQUE QUILT-JUST HAD TO SHARE!

Saw this quilt in an antique shop and just had to share! Sadly, some of the fabrics are in a state of decay and fading, probably because of sun exposure and washing. I just love the colors and the patterns and everything about this fabulous antique quilt. Sadly, the maker's name is unknown. Hope you are inspired by this beauty!

SOME INSPIRATION FOR TUESDAY! ANTIQUE QUILT SALE!

Just some inspiration for quilters and everyone who loves quilts! These antique quilts were for sale and were so beautiful that I thought you might enjoy them. All are applique quilts that have been carefully preserved by the families that owned them.
Applique quilts are so labor intensive that they were usually only displayed or used for "company" so escaped the numerous washings and heavy use their pieced sister quilts endured. I was so glad to see these beautiful works of art. Not one of these quilts had any information about the maker so these fiber artists must remain unknown.
If you are lucky enough to have an antique quilt, please, please, please don't use thumbtacks or push pins to hang it up! Learn how to make a sleeve for hanging. If you can't find a tutorial for one, let me know!
So hope you are inspired! Be sure to put a label on your quilts--future generations will appreciate it! Cheery wave!
