JUST DREAMY FABRIC BY RILEY BLAKE DESIGNS HAS ARRIVED!!

We LOVE Riley Blake Designs! We bought the Be Merry Christmas fabric and it has been a huge favorite with our customers. We just snagged some of the Just Dreamy fabric which I especially love because it's so versatile! I've been making a few things for my new grand-daughter, Dylan, and these fabrics lend themselves so well to childrens clothing. They are also great for bags, totes, quilts, curtains and home dec projects and more. You can see the sample of projects that Riley Blake sent us.
This fabric was designed for Riley Blake by Zoe Pearn who also designs scrapbook paper for My Mind's Eye. She is so talented! We have also ordered her new spring lines so look for those after the first of the year.
I'm going to make something for Dylan from this great fabric. I think I'll make some rompers to wear with little t-shirts. Stop by 44th Street Fabric and pick yours up today!

Be Merry Finished Pillow...with some help from Jennifer Paganelli!

Yesterday 44th Street Fabric received the Be Merry Christmas fabric from Riley Blake Designs and I couldn't wait to make something. Am I a designer...nooooooo way! I know that. But I drew a little tree and paper pieced it and made a pillow. Last night I ran out of steam and asked for ideas as to how to finish. Thanks for all the suggestions--here's the finished pillow.
I used Sis Boom fabric by Jennifer Paganelli for the background and I like the way it looks. My daughter Gina who actually is a designer said it was too busy and distracting for a background. Oh well, I like it! I also made a fabric bow for the top of the tree. It's 3-D so it looks better in person. Also, I decided it needed more of the light fabric that was used to make the flower pot.
My biggest problem with pillows is the stuffing. How much is enough, how do you get rid of lumps, etc. Pillow forms are the way to go but I didn't have any and didn't want to go to the store so I just stuffed it. Also with pillow forms you have to design the pillow to be a certain size. So there it is...not a work of art but might give you an idea as to how the Be Merry fabric looks made up.

DECISIONS, DECISIONS!

The cute fabric from Riley Blake Designs came last night and I couldn't wait to make something from it after I got it listed in the store! Couldn't find a pattern I liked so just drew one and paper pieced it and am going to make a pillow. Now--thick borders or thinner borders? Piping or no piping? I don't know and I'm too tired to decide. It's nothing fancy-just something from the really cute Be Merry fabric. Somebody give me an opinion and that's what I'll do...maybe tomorrow...but that's what I'll do.
