Hey cyber homies! How are you guys doing? I am trying to finish the basket quilt that has become just a monster... but it won't let me! As you recall from my former whining, I quilted the background with a tiny pattern...don't ask me why...I'm just crazy. So, I was going to leave the inner border plain and just do a cross hatch in the border. But now I'm thinking that I need to double the cross hatch and add a pattern to the inner border.
I have tons of other things to work on and need to get this finished and on eBay. Why am I like this? Ack... I also found this on Pinterest which I think is very interesting, especially now that I'm trying to sell quilting:
I'm not sure who should get credit for this cause I can't read the fine print on the bottom right which is where the maker's name probably is. Again, I wonder why people will buy paintings for a lot of money but not quilts. I know that the stars in the quilting field get good money for their quilts but I am not in that category. Oh well, I have one commission (thank you--you know who you are!) and have the blocks finished for another top. So I'm busy. That's a good thing. What are you up to? What are you working on? Something fun I hope! Well, I'm off to work. Have a great Tuesday! XO from Bev

Thank you for sharing your pinterest find - I really enjoyed this 'breakdown' in pricing. I enjoy your blog!
The double cross hatching will help even out the quilting you did in the center. I saw that chart and it explains why I "gift" my Quilts rather than Sell them. Can't put a price on the Love I put into them.
i am making my great granddaughter Gracie a quilt for a late birthday present
From the little part of the quilt we see, it looks amazing. The quilting really does make the appliqué pop. It may be time consuming, but the result is wonderful.
You love quilting, that is why you keep doing all of the fun extra things that take longer! You are also an artist and "have" to do whatever your creative self tells you! I just love this quilt!
the cross hatching looks good but maybe a double row will look even better? I so agree painted pictures earn so much more can never understand why, are you keeping a record of hours spent on each quilt? Fingers crossed to find a buyer who I am sure will love the quilt
There are a few people I'd like to send a copy of this to! I just may, too! Thanks for sharing!
What the fine print says basically is "the larger the quilt, the more detailed the pattern, the more the quilt will cost". Not word for word.
No name given as to who made it.
