Okay, somebody has to tell me how to get a good photo of a long, skinny quilt block! I tried everything to get a photo of this little group of blocks from the Gossip in the Garden quilt! The block farthest from me always looks like it isn't even. Oh well, you get the idea. This is what I did yesterday from two different angles:
We won't even discuss lighting here.
I promise, in real life it isn't crooked or wonky. Oh well, you get the idea. So what are you guys doing this weekend? Did anyone see last night's episode of Outlander? I am so in love with this show. It is beautiful! The scenery, the castles, Jamie.....
Well, I'm off to clean, write copy and do some washing. Lola came in from outside yesterday with some sort of plant sort of woven in her ear hair. It was raining so she was wet. I thought I could brush it out but now it's a matted mess....sigh...my other project today. She's like PigPen from the Snoopy cartoon strip...I just don't know how she does it. Don't forget to enter the GIVEAWAY if you haven't already! I'm so surprised that, although over 400 people looked at the post, very few left a comment to enter. I have to think that they just don't want the Union Jack fabric...I don't get it. Oh well, better chance for you guys who entered! XO and cheery wave from Bev

I fight with my quilts and photography too. All of them look like they are wonky and they really aren't. I've tried a tripod, even with a level making sure the camera is straight, but no luck. I am going with it's the lens! The lens is crazy! My story and I'm stickin to it. Love your "gossip" quilt.

Great block! It is hard to get a picture like that, I stand on a chair but one of these days I may fall and break something!
I hate when I can't get my camera angle right...I fought with photographing some beadwork I did this morning! ARGH. Hope your Sunday ROCKS - the week ahead, too! XOXO
That is so, so cute! Photo looks great to me as does the quilt.
It looks wonderful! The camera cam do really strange things to quilts and quilt blocks. Love the colors.
I have been known to stand on chairs or lounges ton tippy toes !! Lol to get a good photo
I m no friends with a camera either, but don t worry: it s a lovely block and, as always, your colours are great!
I m happy that not many people want the Union flag fabric.....more chance to win for me :)
Very nice blocks here.I think most of us struggle when we photo quilts, I have found the most successful way is to peg them on the washing line, not 100% but they look more uniform than when I take them on a table rf the floor
Love how you've used ric rac to frame those circles - inspired choice! You've done a great job of photographing this part of the quilt.
i love that block!
