There was ice on the trees but the roads were clear so Jason and Dylan made it up from Dallas and we had our day to celebrate Christmas. Here are some pics of the kids (no visitors in these pics): This first photo is titled "I just wanted a picture with everyone in it". I should have been more specific and said "I just wanted a picture with everyone's face visible". That did not happen because no-one will get serious....sigh....
Dylan got lots of attention from her girl cousins and she was able to play house with dolls and stuffed animals all day long. She didn't know what to do with all the attention. She's an only child so it was kind of overwhelming, I think.
Here's Eric and Kelly, his youngest:
And Eric with Emily, his oldest. When Em was 4 years old, she had an aggressive brain tumor and went through brain surgery twice. We are so grateful that she had a full recovery with only a slight loss of some movement in one of her hands. It was the kind of experience that teaches what to be grateful for!
And here's Kelly, Eric's middle girl. Her photo with dad didn't turn out:
I can't get used to the girls being old enough to wear makeup. I had a camera malfunction during the day and after every male in attendance had to try to fix it, it was declared DOA. So Jason went to Best Buy and bought me a new camera. I spent half a day yesterday trying to figure out how to get the photos from the camera to the computer. I still have a lot to learn about it. It's way different than my old point and shoot. So THANKS Jason!
Here's Peri and Austin, Gina's oldest and middle. Of course, there were cell phones out all day. When I was growing up, if there had been cell phones, they would have been in our room if we had company.
Here's Sawyer, Gina's youngest. Pictures of Gina and her kids were the ones I took early and were lost when my camera went on the fritz. :(
And the only photo of Gina that I managed to get was this one where she is obviously looking at something on the ceiling:
And here is Daisy. My granddog! She is 14! Look at that sweet face!
At the end of a fun day, Jason and Dylan headed back to Dallas:
and Charlie got ready for his Christmas Eve duties:
I hope you get to spend Christmas with your family. I'm working today (actual Christmas Day) but I am grateful to have been able to get together with everyone for the holiday. I'm grateful that everyone is healthy (well Charlie is getting by) and happy! Can't wait to see your Christmas pics! XO and Cheery Wave from Bev
Bev - Merry Christmas and hope 2014 is a very blessed year!

Merry Christmas! Wishing you a happy and healthy New year.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful family!
You have a wonderful family! Merry Christmas!
ReplyDeletegood to see your family made it and such a lovely time you had. My dinner is on 28th as younger daughter is a nurse and has been working over Christmas and other daughter wanted to be in her own home, the first time she has not come with my granddaughter so yesterday was very strange. Must now get the turkey out of the freezer
ReplyDeleteSo glad everyone made it! My son from Iowa made it and my Denver son made it after a stopover in Tulsa. Next year Christmas will be totally different as the oldest will be ordained a priest for Tulsa in May. We'll probably be going north to Oklahoma territory. But as long aw we're together it doesn't matter.
