First let me say that I'm glad I'm not going to lose my fingers or my hand. Second let me say that this was an expensive experience that has made me re-think hiring exterminators. Here is a photo of the 3 Pines quilt I made for Eric and his wife for their ski cabin named "Three Pines".
My daughter-in-law picked out the fabrics and the pattern. Here's a closeup of the quilting:
What does this have to do with my spider bite, you ask? I'm showing you these because I want to put a pic of my spider bite on my blog (for sympathy) and don't want it to be the photo that shows on other blogger's sites. So if you are squeamish, don't scroll down! This is the least yucky pic. So here is my expensive little bite as of today (and it's better):
I had an IV right in the doctor's office and if it doesn't get better "further action" might be necessary. I don't even want to know what that is. See how far from the bite that the yellow and pink skin is? Creepy, right! It's actually a little easier to type today. I've always hated the idea of exterminators but am re-considering now. Hope you have a happy weekend and that you watch out for little critters! If you live in Oklahoma City, I'm still accepting soup and get well gifts..... :) Cheery wave from Bev
OW! Did they know what kind of bite it was?
ReplyDeletei would send you some soup but with our postal system it might take it weeks before it got there hope you get better FAST
ReplyDeleteI think you should put your son, the doctor, over your knee and paddle his behind! lol....my daughter is starting pre-med next month. I'll be asking her for advice pretty soon. Glad you finally got it taken care of. Next time, don't wait so long to go!!!

Eeew! That must have been unpleasant!
ReplyDeleteoh my Bev...this is really serious! Scary! Hope you've got it under control...take care of yourself. Big hugs...~k
ReplyDeleteoh..i made that same wall hanging!
I'm glad you got medicine and hope you get better soon. I have had spider bites but none have gotten like that. I've been spraying my house with some organic spray since the cat and I get sick from regular bug spray. The spiders are taking over this summer. Get well soon!
ReplyDeleteWow, that looks bad. I hope you are feeling better soon so you can get back to sewing!!
ReplyDeleteOuch! I am so sorry that happened to you! I hope the meds work their magic!
ReplyDeleteWhat kind of meds did the DR give you? Pretty pricey! I got bit on both arms just above my elbow while trimming some bushes. They were tiny spiders about 1/8" big, didn't thing twice about it till next day I started to itch then had welts about 5" in diameter. I used Benadryl spray for insect bites and poison ivy, oak & sumac. Really help lots. Took a week for the swelling to go away. I just have the pin prick mark where they bit me. Hope you get to feeling better soon. Am wearing long sleeves next time, hope it helps.
ReplyDeleteYour pics made me want to give you sympathy...lots of it! I hope the medicine fixes it real quick.
ReplyDeletegood to have got the bite sorted, it does look pretty infected, meds should have kicked in by now so hopefully you are feeling better
ReplyDeleteLove the quilt too.
LOL no presents but a lot of sympathy. Hope you are better soon.
ReplyDeleteMy husband spent a week in the hospital (IV antibiotics) two weeks ago for what may have been a spider bite. Still on antibiotics. Take care
ReplyDeleteI don't like exterminators either, but I keep bug spray in every room. Do they know what kind of spider that was? Maybe you're allergic. I'm glad it's a little better and you can stop thinking about the "other" actions.
