March 1st (already..I can't believe it) and time to announce our February Giveaway winner! Congrats to Emmie! I couldn't find a blog for Emmie but she did attach her email so I've emailed you Emmie. Tomorrow I will announce our March Giveaway and I think you will like it.
Last night my grandson brought me a pair of Toms that he loves but that had horrible holes in them. Being on the tight budget of a 16 year old, he requested that I sew up the holes in these giant boy shoes. Well, there was no way! So I showed him some batik fabric I had and he liked it. I stuffed the Toms with tissue paper and used Modge Podge to apply the fabric. Here is the result:
Here's the heel area that was just gone. I took the label off and Modge Podged it back on.
He was happy. It was a dirty job (as you can see-lol) but I kind of like the way it turned out. I didn't take pictures of the "before" condition. You'd really be impressed if I did that! I might buy myself some black ones and Modge Podge some Cherries on the top or something. Have a great day! Hope you find some time to sew. Cheery wave from Bev

Love your Toms fix!
I just bought some modge podge, do you have to put anything else on after putting the modge podge on?
Very clever!!
You are such a sweet heart of a "Grandmother" !
Nice job on the shoe rehabilitation! They appear very useful again.
That was such a cute idea. Years ago I covered a pair of high heels to match a dress I made for a wedding. I too was on a tight budget and didn't want to buy shoes and have them dyed. It worked out pretty good.
