Hello and happy Thursday! Last night I tried some of the suggestions I got from you guys for cleaning my gunked up iron so I could start getting my first applique block ready on the Civil War Bride quilt. I got quite a bit done considering the blocks are so complicated and large:
I'm using freezer paper applique so I really need the iron. The first thing I tried for cleaning the iron was a Mr. Clean white magic eraser. It worked PERFECTLY! It was easy and the gunk came right off. Then I ironed a dryer sheet and the finish looks brand new. See what you think:

so glad you got the iron cleaned. it does look brand new. it is nice not to have to worry about ruining a block with a messy iron.
