Amish Star and a Sewing Tip

Wow. Monday is back.I decided to put the 48 Farmer's Wife blocks I finished together into a wall hanging so worked on sashing this weekend. I also did another block for the Summer Celebration quilt.
It's Block No. 23, the Amish Star. Sorry for the bad pic.

I also learned a sewing tip that I'm sure probably 95% of you know but for some reason, I did not. It's funny how I could have the same machine for so long and not know this basic thing. It is that, when you thread your machine, have the presser foot up. The reason for that is that the tension discs are disengaged with the presser foot up so the thread goes in properly. The reason I never did that is that Bernina has a white strip on the presser feet to make it easier to thread the needle and, with the presser foot down, I could see the white strip. So, just in case you didn't know to do that either, there ya go.

I hope you have a wonderful day and get a chance to sew. Cheery wave from Bev

I just learned the same thing last week! Also put it up when threading the machine. Love your blocks!
