Charlie and Lola's Adventure

Saturday! I couldn't wait for today to get here so that I could sew all day. I got up at 4:30 and had breakfast and just for a moment rested my head on the couch to watch the end of a movie and woke up at 11:00. What is with this nap thing? I think I'm over the pneumonia.

We had some excitement last night. Charlie and Lola (who have a doggie door) were barking like crazy at about 10:30 and they wouldn't come in when I called. I went outside to get them with my flash light to see if there was a stray cat or something and one of the gates to the outside was open! They could have gone out in the street! There is a padlock on that big wooden gate but the hardware had been pulled out. Someone had to have done it and come into my back yard! So I chained it and padlocked it. I don't think anybody will get through that way again. I have a 12 foot wooden fence so felt pretty safe. Next time I'll go outside with my flashlight and my gun. Brave little Charlie and Lola protected their yard!

I  got these blocks together yesterday. The big one is Combination Star and the 3 small ones at the bottom are called Double Triangles. They are for the Summer Celebration quilt. I don't know what I was thinking.
These look terrible together! I should have made the big triangles on the Double Triangle blocks red and the little one blue. I'm going to lay out the blocks I have finished today and see if I'm going to have to re-do them or if they are surrounded by enough other colors to be okay. The more I look at this picture, the more I think I'm going to have to do that today.

I have the coffee cups from the Row Along quilt finished but have to sew them together and put on the borders. I think I'll quit rambling on now. Hope you have a great Saturday! Be safe! Cheery wave from Bev

I can't get over the fact you have a gun. We aren't allowed guns here in Australia. Would you use it if you had to? I reckon I would.

Your block is very pretty.

Omg what a Frightening experience. Charlie & Lola need extra treats for eing on guard duty, they may ave frightened someone away. Did you report it to the police, this person might be getting other peoples yards. Keep you gun handy.

I just pulled my material to get started on the row along quilt, I've been too busy with other things to get started on it.
