Birthday Giveaway!
Good Morning! Today is my birthday! I am 65 today and I am now officially on Medicare...for whatever that means. I didn't know you actually have to pay for Medicare and they take it out in 3 month hunks! Why do they call it an entitlement? Will I retire? Travel to exotic climes? Nope. So to celebrate my birthday, I'm giving away a charm square pack of Polka Dot Stitches fabric by the amazing Lori Holt for Riley Blake Designs!

We have the charm square packs in the shop and we have the fat quarter packs as well as some of the fabrics on the bolt.

Happy Birthday!! It's funny how certain birthday milestones can be memorable for crazy reasons. When my husband and I turned 50, we each got AARP mail on the day of our birthdays - and we didn't ask for it!

It's so nice of you to give everyone else a stab at a present on your birthday.
First of all, I want to wish you a Very Happy Birthday. I'm an October baby too and I'll be 65 on Oct.9. I too have got the medicare card and what an experience it was just signing up and picking a supplement and finding the right prescription coverage. Even though I have to pay some for my medicare, it's so much cheaper than my other insurance was, so I'm pretty happy about that.

Happy Birthday! I turned 65 this year too - I think they only take your Medicare premium out month-by-month. At least that is what they do with my husbands. I've only had it for a month.

Happy 65! I was 65 in May and have not used it yet. My husband is still working and probably will for quite some time so we only have Part A. Medicare is hardly the give away system that so many are fighting about, is it? You pay for it all the years you are working, you pay for it when you get it, it doesn't cover everything and only covers 80% of what it does cover. I think we are entitled! anyway, I'll get off the soap box. I'd love to win the fabric, it such a sweet set of prints. Happy Birthday!

Happy Wonderful 65th Birthday! That's what's so "wonderful" about entitlements, they do cost you some and the other people pick up the rest--then you later find out the govt. can tell you what to do--oh, that's right, they are doing that now! Try being the child of a 90 year old and her Part B provider won't talk to me unless I sign up each year and you never know when it is in effect or expires--have to call in and hope it went to the right location. The "golden years" are when they take all of your gold!

Didn't they tell you that you pay for some of the entitlement, more in taxes if you still work or earn too much, the rest of the taxpayers chip in too, and then they tell you what to do--even tell you you're not worth "fixing" if you're a bit too old. Welcome to the golden years--where your 'gold' disappears so you don't get to enjoy more leisure days.
