Dresden Plate FINALLY Finished!

Hello on Monday! First, let me say thank you from the bottom of my heart for the lovely comments you made on my last entry about the power of words. Some of your comments made me cry because they were so sweet. I wish I had you all during the time I was so low. You are fine, caring people and I'm so glad to know you. That being said, I FINALLY finished the Dresden Plate quilt I've been working on. I wish I could get a better photo of it but this is the best I can do right now.
I used to be able to manipulate a large quilt and just "free hand" the straight lines because I don't have a walking foot (they are really expensive). I saw that now I have to really take it slow and even then, I have wonky quilting lines. Happily, this quilt is for me and not for any quilt competition or to be sold. Heck, I can only get better, right?
As part of the Project I started to finish 4 quilts before I started anything else, I am happy to say that this is the final one. Now I'm going to start 4 more. Switching off and working on the different projects keeps me from being bored and gives me a goal that is possible to reach.
Oh, and another thing I discovered is that I hate the expensive bamboo batting I used in this project. It shredded easily with manipulation. It doesn't show the quilting as well as cotton batting and there were spots that were thicker than other spots. Maybe it was the brand I was using but it cost a lot more and as a personal preference, I just didn't like it.

Again, thank you for all your support and kindness! I love the people who have beautiful blogs that reflect their beautiful spirits and the non-bloggers who took the time to comment. Don't forget to enter the AUGUST GIVEAWAY! Have a happy Monday! Cheery wave from Bev

I'm so glad Sweet P sent me over to look at your Blog. Are you quilting on a domestic machine? I don't see any wonky lines. Love the Dresden Plate pattern. 4 more? Must be for gifts.

very very pretty. I've just tried making my first Dresden plate and I think I'm going to trash it as everyone I've showen it to says it to bold. I guess I need lessons in how to pick colors, LOL

Love your quilting I haven't attempted that yet.
