I was just thinking about what I could blog about today because I did no piecing or quilting yesterday and I realized that I didn't know where my cell phone was. I no longer have a land line because it just seems like a waste of money. But I remembered a nifty tip. There is a website that will call your cell phone if you lose it so you can find it. It's just so awesome if you're forgetful like I am. The website is: http://wheresmycellphone.com. Then I started thinking of other tips that I use often. Did you know that cars have an arrow by the gas indicator that shows you what side the gas cap is on? So if you have more than one car or you're driving a rental (or you're a ditz), you can see what side to drive up to the gas pump on:
See the little arrow? Isn't that handy? I have a can of leftover paint that I use for touchups on my walls. Did you know that you can add a tablespoon of vanilla extract (the real stuff) to the paint and it will keep the house from smelling like paint and make it smell like vanilla? It doesn't affect the paint color at all.
Here are more car tips for bad weather! Did you know that if you fill a spray bottle with 3 parts vinegar to one part water and spritz on all your windows at night that in the morning, they'll be clear of ice? If your windshield wipers aren't performing, wipe them with a cloth saturated with rubbing alcohol. They will go right back to like-new condition! You can de-ice your door lock in seconds with hand sanitizer (I always carry a small bottle in my purse). Just put some hand sanitizer gel on the key and the lock and it will open right up!
The older I get, the more I appreciate tips that keep me from having to call someone for help. Hope you're having a great day and that you can use some of these tips to make your life easier! XO and cheery wave from Bev
Very handy to read all those tips - I park my car in the garage now so I don't have to worry about icy windshields, but I'll share that one with my kids! thanks!
ReplyDeleteGreat tips, Bev. Thanks so much for sharing them.
ReplyDeleteThanks for the tip on the wiper blades, I need to give it a try.
ReplyDeleteYou're just a mine of useful information! Thanks for the tips, I'm definitely going to try the vinegar spray on my windscreen, I'm fed up scraping ice!
ReplyDeleteHappy Wednesday, Bev :-)
Xx
I appreciate the gas tank info, because I am a ditz, my husband always fills up the car so I never know what side the tank is on - LOL
ReplyDeleteWell aren't you just a regular Cliff Clavin! Thanks for the handy tips. Gonna try that windshield wiper one, I've been replacing mine about every six months.
ReplyDeleteGreat tips! Thanks.

Great tips!
ReplyDeleteEspecially glad about the phone location one. I'll remember it when I've already had to iMessage (iPad) my family about my misplaced phone. Not that I've ever lost it twice in the span of a day.😋
Great tips. I like the vanilla and paint idea.
ReplyDeleteThanks for the tip! I have scraping ice of the windows!
ReplyDeletethe tip re the ice on car windows sounds too good to be true!!, will pass it on to my daughter as I do not have a car now I am a pensioner and have free bus travel I could not justify keeping it, more money for fabric!
ReplyDeleteThanks for the tips. I didn't know that the arrow was on the car display. I checked mine and it doesn't have it but it will hopefully work for any new or unfamiliar cars. Every time I fill up a new car I end up getting out to check where the cap is.
