Jumped off the Self-Pity Train - broke my toe on the way down!

What can I say? My knee is doing better but I'm still using my cane. I was gingerly walking past a sleeping dog and I guess my cane scared her. Lola jumped up and I was so afraid of messing up my knee again or falling that I found myself dancing some kind of jig and bend back my little toe on my good leg on the door frame. Hahahahahahahahaha. Why are you laughing, you might ask? Well, after a while, it gets ridiculous and sort of funny. Now my toe is blue....sigh....I've had a broken toe before so I know that it is broken. Nothing to do about it. But look what I got done yesterday!
Six more blocks on my Scrappy Trip Around the World all stacked up and ready to sew together! I love this quilt and think it will be so pretty:
I love it because it's all my favorite fabrics. All from end of bolt fabrics from the shop! That last 6 to 12 inches. I'm just wondering how big to make it. Have any of you make this quilt? How big did you make yours?

So broken toe or not, it's a good day if I can sew! Hope you have a great week! XO and cheery wave from Bev

  1. Ouch! I know what that feels like to stub your toe like that. But, the good news is that they won't do anything to it hardly if you had gone to the Dr. So sorry!

But, you did get alot accomplished with cutting all of those blocks.

  2. I've started mine - 6 blocks sewn together with another 22 ready to sew into blocks. I'm aiming for a 6 x 6 layout. I like the pattern to be even all over. Yours is gorgeous so far!!

  3. I broke two toes two weeks before my wedding. I'm making the scrappy trip along right now, I'm making it queen size for my bed. I made 80 squares and I'll see if it needs a border after I lay it on the bed and see how nicely it hangs.

  4. Guess you'll be doing more sit-down jobs until the toe and knee feel better. Sorry that Murphy is at your house this time.

  5. Mine is 6 squares down and 6 across. I plan on putting a couple of borders before I have it quilted and yes, they are some of MY favorite fabrics and out of all the quilts I have made it is my favorite of all.

  6. This is absolutely the sorriest saga I have heard in a long time. You must have done something REALLY bad for the universe to be giving you so much trouble. You need to buy some fabric to feel better.
