Happy 14th Birthday Charlie! Little Flowers and a Winner!

Today is Charlie's 14th "birthday" or "day he came to live with me". He was found tied up in someone's back yard and his collar had grown into his neck. It had to be surgically removed. Why do people get dogs just to stick them in the yard alone? Anyway, I got Charlie and he is the love of my life. Here's a photo of Charlie on his favorite quilt. Happy Birthday Charlie!
As you can see, Charlie's birthday is big news!

I spotted these flower blocks last night and thought I would applique some of the centers because that is a mindless sewing job...just what I needed. The blocks look like this finished:
and I got quite a few finished:
But still have more to go:
I don't trim up the block until the applique is finished because it can distort the block. As you can see, I've reached deep into my scrap box to make these cute little blocks. My scrap box is huge. Would anyone be interested in a giveaway for scraps? Let me know if you would.

We have a winner for the Middle of March Batik Giveaway and it is:  KATIE from the blog Snuggle Up With A Dish of Karma. Her blog name makes her sound so interesting, doesn't it. Apparently her "dish of karma" includes some free fabric. Thanks to everyone who entered! I wish I could send fabric to you all.

I'm taking tomorrow off to sew. Yesterday I wrote about shoes all day and today it will be baby clothes. The Row Along Quilt last row of tulips is what I will be working on. Then it will be ready to assemble and add the borders. There is also a really cute quilt label that calls for embroidery. I never do embroidery well so we will see. The row of tulips is plenty though. Everyone have a good day! Happy Birthday Charlie! Mommy loves you! Cheery wave from Bev

It was a happy day for both you and Charlie when he came to live with you! I would love a giveaway for scraps. I have several scrap quilts I want to make but not nearly enough scraps.

Happy Birthday Charlie Boy -- so glad you have a good home now. I would love the opportunity at a scraps giveaway (I am a junkie for scraps). I can't wait to see the beautiful fabrics coming my way. As for my blog title comes from a combination of many things in my life -- quiling, cooking and the beleif in Karma (you know do unto others).

FELIZANIVERSÁRIO!!!!!Eu amo sucatas e na maioria dos meus trabalhos lá estão elas, que ficam felizes por serem utilizadas por mim...Sem contar o meu vício eterno por hexágonos.

YES YES YES!!!! Oh the things I could do with your scraps...makes my head spin!

I recently had to downsize, and I gave away my meager scrap collection, and boy do I regret it!
