WENDY SLOTBOOM (OUR FAV FABRIC DESIGNER) FEATURED US ON HER BLOG!

As most of you know, we not only sell fabric, we make things with our fabric including pet collars. It is so awesome that our favorite fabric designer, Wendy Slotboom, has a cat named Toby who has exceptional taste in designer neckwear. As you can see, he is a handsome guy and we are proud to have him model a Comfy Collar! We loved the blog entry and Happy Birthday Toby!

SWEET ESCAPE FABRIC AND FREE QUILT PATTERN!

We love the Sweet Escape fabric designed by Verna Mosquera for Free Spirit! We like the look of this vintage inspired soft, romantic fabric with a shabby feel and especially love the faded colorways. They make such a great combination and are so versatile that when we had a chance to snag some for 44th Street Fabric , we jumped on it! The quilt shown is easy and quick, using the border fabric but looks awesome. Just leave a comment here or convo us at our 44th Street Fabric Etsy shop for a free pattern!

WE ARE TICKLED PINK - ULTRASOUND SAYS GIRL!!

April and Jason found out that my next grandbaby (#7) is a GIRL!! Everyone is thrilled because after all, GIRLS RULE!! A boy would be fine too--I have 2 wonderful grandsons. Girls are sure fun to sew for though. So here's a photo of April, Jason and Baby Girl! Looks like she might make her arrival on or about October 5th (which happens to be my birthday)! What a great gift that would be!

PINWHEEL QUILT TOP

Yes, this is yet another photo that I discovered when I moved. I thought I had lost these photos of my quilts for good so I've been so happy to find them. Many of my quilts have been sold so I was very upset to think that I didn't even have photos of them!

This pinwheel quilt top disappeared under mysterious circumstances during a teaching weekend. Enough said about that--I'm glad to have found a photo. This quilt was designed by me for a challenge wherein we had to use only 4 fabrics and convey motion. I wish I had better photos because this fabric really helped the design move. It was a fun challenge and if I find the right fabric, I might just reproduce this quilt. It would look great draped on the porch railing on the 4th of July....sigh....

By the way, thanks for indulging me when I post photos of my quilts. I miss them like old friends!

BACKYARD ADVENTURES OR FEED THE SQUIRRELS AT YOUR OWN RISK!

Three weeks ago, while buying bird food, I noticed some innocent looking stuff called "Squirrel Food"! Charlie and Lola love to watch for the little squirrels in our back yard (with no possible chance of ever catching any) and I thought I'd just grab some for the harmless little creatures. Well, after only 3 weeks of feeding the cute little squirrels, I am out of squirrel food. Needless to say, when you look out your window and see this, you make a trip to the store for more squirrel food. So, I'm on my way right now before the window screens get ripped off the house! Cute little creatures......yeah, righta!

LILY POND FABRIC IS ON THE WAY!

FINALLY received the notice that Lily Pond fabric by Wendy Slotboom for In the Beginning Fabrics is on the way to 44thstreetfabric.com! It was supposed to be here in May and I have baby quilts to make! Pictured are only two fabrics from the Lily Pond line--just to show you how adorable they are!

FUN AND NOT TOO FRIGHTENING NEW HALLOWEEN FABRIC!

We have ordered Halloween fabric for 44th Street Fabric and wanted to share some of what we chose! We looked at all the new Halloween fabric lines and this one was everyone's favorite in the first, blind vote! It is so cute and the colors are so bright and fun! We can't wait for it to get here!
