CHEF'S APRON FROM DESIGNER FABRIC!

Our handsome model, Jason, is wearing his chef's apron (from a real French pattern) made from this great fabric, Country Roads by Robyn Pandolph. We wanted to make up the French chef's pattern that we found (comment us if you want to buy the pattern) but didn't want to make it from boring fabric. Fortunately, we have this fabulous fabric in our Etsy store (just click on the photo to buy some) and thought we would try it. Jason is a sophisticated guy who lives in Dallas with his partner Graig and has a fabulous big house and pool. The guys entertain a lot and Jason loves to cook. He looks smashing in his chef's apron in Country Roads fabric! Thanks Jason!

THE PRACTICAL BAG PATTERN BY TANYA WHELEN

The shop has listed some of Tanya Whelan's patterns and I actually made a bag from her Practical Bag Pattern today! I made it from Feathered Friends fabric (which we also sell of course) by Wendy Slotboom for In the Beginning Fabrics. I was really happy with how the bag turned out! I used the big red bird fabric for the outside, the floral for the inside and the blue stems and leaves for the handle. It took me about 2 hours total to cut it out and stitch it up. It's a perfect size for a day at the beach, a day out with baby or an eco friendly trip to the market. I'm going to use mine to take packages to the Post Office. It's a great pattern to use your favorite big print fabric! Just click on any of the pictures to buy your own!

TANYA WHELAN APRON PATTERN!

We are so excited to have Tanya Whelan patterns in our Etsy store! Her designs are so cute and her patterns are so easy to follow that we think once you buy one, you will be back for the others. We also stock some of the Tanya Whelan Darla and Barefoot Roses fabric to make these items look just like the ones in the photos or even cuter. Later today I'm going to finish my Tanya Whelen tote bag. I'll take a photo of it and share. It's nice and roomy and I'm using it to "tote" all my orders to the Post Office. Get your apron pattern and fabric before they are sold out!

HEARTS AND FLOWERS WALL HANGING

Valentine's Day is just around the corner and in the spirit of that, I dug out a wallhanging I started (quite a few years ago) and am going to try to finish. It's from a Jan Patek pattern. I love her folk art designs which celebrate what I like to call the "whimsy of imperfect placement".
